PRIOR EXPERIENCE:

1992-1997:

Coordinator of Interdisciplinary Studies (Fall 1995-Summer 1997)and Assistant Professor of History and Philosophy (Tenured, Spring 1996, and promoted to Associate Professor Spring 1997), DeKalb College (now Georgia Perimeter College) , Atlanta, Georgia.

Built an interdisciplinary program on 5 campuses; Duties included coordinating the interdisciplinary block courses on five campuses, leading faculty development workshops, and supervising IDS course development

HIST 110 and 111: World Civilization to 1300 A.D. and from 1300-1815 A.D.
HIST 110H and 111H: Honors World Civ
PHIL 241 Introduction to Philosophy
RELI 201 Comparative World Religion
Distance learning (GSAMS) World Civilization and Humanities Interdisciplinary course "The Hero's Quest" (10 credit hours)
World Civilization (HIST 110 and 111) in the Regents' Study Abroad Program at The Roehampton Institute, London (summer 1996) and in a study abroad program in Greece and Italy (summer 1997).

1991-1992: Visiting Instructor of History, Benedictine College, Atchison, Kansas.

1989-1991: Teaching Fellow in the University of North Texas History Department.
Courses taught:
US HIST I and II
World Civilization Survey courses within the Classic Learning Core, a two-year integrated program of study.

Fellow in the History lab. Duties included tutoring in all areas of history, computer instruction, and review of seminar and term papers.

Part-time instructor at the Selwyn School: ancient history.

Adjunct instructor at Brookhaven Community College

1980-1989: Operated an independent piano studio in Plano. Was active in the Plano Music Teachers Association, the Texas Music Teachers Association, the Music Teachers National Association, and the National Guild of Piano Teachers. Grader for the TMTA state theory exam; member of the coordinators council for the Texas Music Teachers Student Affiliate Association.

1979-1980: Teaching fellow at the University of Pittsburgh. Led discussion sections and served as a grader for several introductory courses in logic, ethics, and for an upper level course in the history of philosophy. Full responsibility for several lower level introductory courses.
