TECHNOLOGICAL PROJECTS:

Sole academic author of the University System of Georgia's eCore (electronic core curriculum) History 1111 (World Civ to 1555) course

Member of the development team for the University System of Georgia's eCore History 2111 (U.S. History to 1865) course. This course was recognized as an examplary course at the International WEBCT conference, 2001.

The World Civilization Virtual Library, a WWW site for World Civilization courses which includes outlines, text, hundreds of links to relevant databases on the Web, and Shockwave applications for Dr. Vess's multimedia packages. (http://www.faculty.de.gcsu.edu/~dvess/)

The World Civilization Interactive Journey, a series of interactive computer modules written in Authorware. Modules contain interactive primary sources, maps, and glossaries, and critical thinking exercises for World Civilization courses.

World Civilization Classroom Presentation Package, a complete series of multimedia classroom presentations, including graphics, video, and sound, for use in World Civ to 1300 and from 1300-1815 A.D. classes.

Course web site for HIST 4950: Medieval Monasticism. Extensive bibliographic links, course materials, and nineteen virtual tours of monastic ruins, many of which provide materials unavailable elsewhere in print or in electronic format.
